Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the National Family Benefit Scheme (NFBS), a family must meet the following criteria:
- The prospective candidate needs to be an Indian citizen.
- The applicant’s household must be Below Poverty Line (BPL) set by the government
- The family’s primary breadwinner must have died due to natural or accidental causes while between the ages of 18 and 60.
- The breadwinner must have been a household member whose earnings contributed significantly to the family’s income.
- In urban areas, the family’s total income must be less than INR 56,000, and in rural areas, it must be less than INR 46,000/-.
- If the breadwinner was unmarried, the household may include dependent parents and minor siblings.
Benefits of Jatiya Parivar Mangala Yojana
₹ 20000/- will be given as lump sum assistance to the surviving member of the household of the deceased poor, who is found to be the head of the household after local investigation. Assistance will be given in every case of death of the breadwinner in a family.
